10 Year Journal

I recently wrote my last entry in my 10 year journal from 2003 - 2013. I couldn't believe I had chronicled ten years with very few omissions. I enjoyed reflecting back with each new entry, so I knew I had to get another one for my next 10 years. Fortunately it arrived before January 1st and I am well on my way into the next decade.

This journal provides a compact history of the humdrum events of the recorder's life for a decade. It's possible to read up the page and see when to be on the lookout for snakes trying to enter the house in the autumn or when to schedule the furnace man's annual inspection. It helps remember which year surgery was done on the left knee and which year the right knee was done.
My only suggestion for improvement would be to make a wider margin at the bottom of the page. When the writer gets to the 10th year, it's difficult to hold the pen at the bottom edge of the book and find a place to balance the writing hand. Other than that, it's a great tool!

I am now on my second Journal 10 and could not live without it. Every evening, before retiring, I write a few lines regarding what I have done for the day. Now I no longer have lost days, thinking "What did I do yesterday?" Also, it has often been important in verifying business issues, where someone disagrees with a date something was done or who was there and what was said. It is invaluable!

We had Christmas early because of my work schedule and I gave these to each sibling's family to start their "family history." They were given at separate times, and I could see the ones who hadn't gotten theirs yet were drooling over the Journal 10. The green is very dark, so very classic looking, and LOVE the new leather binders.
