1. How much does Journal 10+ cost?
Our suggested retail price is $39.95. This is our online price for a single copy.
Because so many customers like to give Journal 10+ as a gift, we
offer a discount for multiple book purchases. Please refer to our
Place an Online Order
page for our pricing schedule and our
Shipping
page for more information on shipping options.

2. Where can I buy your book [locally] in the city where I live?
Unfortunately, Journal 10+ is not stocked by many bookstores. This varies widely by location,
but in general, it is unlikely that you will find it at the major chain bookstores. Borders and Barnes &
Noble will special order a copy for you, although this may take two weeks or longer. We have tried [numerous
times] to convince the major book chains to carry our book, but they view it like a calendar, or a dated
product. Their assumption is that if they have unsold books after mid-January, then they probably will not sell
and must be returned for credit. This is a significant logistical problems for chains with hundreds of branches,
and for this reason, they have chosen not to stock our journal.
We sell our books primarily through independent
book stores, mail-order catalogs, such as Solutions catalog, and through online
sellers.
See our Retail Partners page to contact the resellers that frequently
stock our book.

7. May I provide specific wording for a gift card/letter to be included
with the journal I am giving as a gift?
Yes, we include a letter with each gift shipment to identify from whom this
gift has been sent. You may add any greeting to this letter, or if you prefer,
we will enclose a gift card with the wording of your choice. Just provide
this information when you place your order. There is no charge for the gift
card or letter. Also, we mail you a copy of your credit card receipt for all
gift orders you place.

8. Can I order a non-current edition of Journal 10+?
Yes. We endeavor to stock a limited number of copies of back editions of our journal,
which you may order through our online store. To be absolutely certain we have the edition
and quantity you want, we recommend calling us at 1-800-694-4786.
Unfortunately, we underestimated demand for our 2003 book and there is no remaining stock of this edition.”

9. May I have a name embossed on the cover of my journal?
Unfortunately, we have found no firms that will emboss individual copies [minimum
quantity is 25 copies]. We will continue to seek an economical solution for
embossing in the future.

2. How long will it take to receive my journal?
We recommend shipping your order by USPS Priority Mail. Priority Mail offers an economical means of receiving
your book within 2-4 days of placing your order. If timely receipt is not of the essence, USPS Media Mail is
available for a lower cost. Most Media Mail shipments will be delivered in 7-21 days, depending on how far you
are from Chicago. Occasionally, delivery may take longer, however. USPS Express Mail and UPS delivery alternatives
are also available if you prefer; for information on these alternatives, see the next FAQ below.
When placing your order, please select from the choices among our shipping alternatives.
If you have a particularly urgent need to receive your order quickly, we recommend calling
our office at 1-800-694-4786. We will do everything we can to expedite your order.

If you have any questions, please call our office at 1-800-694-4786.
We do not offer FedEx, Airborne or other package delivery services
*Note: Selecting UPS-2 Day or 3-Day Delivery will generally add an
additional day to your delivery time because we have to request a pick-up
from UPS. Pickups must be requested a day in advance of shipment. For Next
Day delivery, we will make every effort to get your shipment to UPS on the
day we receive your order.
These options carry a higher shipping cost, as noted in our

4. Do you gift-wrap journals being sent as gifts?

5. Will you ship directly to a third party [gift recipient]?

There is no additional charge for third party delivery.

6. How can I find out when my order shipped
or will be delivered?
If you would like a shipping confirmation email, please include your email
address when you place the order. The U.S. Postal Service offers delivery
confirmation via their web site, and we will send this delivery confirmation
number with this email. USPS delivery confirmation only provides an acknowledgment
of when the package was delivered; it does not offer in-transit package tracking.
If you choose to ship by UPS, the UPS
tracking number will be included in your shipping confirmation email.
1. Can I purchase a journal with a different color cover?
Not at this time. We only offer Journal 10+ with a forest green
cover and gold foil stamped embossing. We have surveyed many customers to
learn which color appealed to the greatest number of users. In the printing
business, to achieve the lowest possible pricing for our customers, we have
to limit our production one large print run. If we were to print books with
multiple color covers, this would (1) force us to raise our prices to cover
higher binding costs, and (2) require us to accurately guess how many books
would be sold in each color. Once our volume increases sufficiently to make
the cost impact minimal, we will consider adding an additional color. Meanwhile,
if you have a color preference, please let us know via email. Your views and
opinions will help us select future colors.

2. Does Journal 10+ have a leather cover?
Journal 10+ utilizes a leatherette cover material.
This is made from very supple, durable grade of vinyl with a cloth core around
which the vinyl is molded. This gives it great strength and longevity, so
it will last for decades. If you accidentally spill something on the cover,
it will wipe off easily.

3. What type of binding does Journal 10+ have?
We use a Smythe-sewn binding, the most durable binding method
for high-quality journals.
top of page
4. Do you have a software version of Journal 10+?
We do not have a PC or Mac version of Journal 10+. We understand
there are several journaling programs for personal computers, but we have
not used any of them.
top of page
5. Is there some way to add more pages to my journal?
Unfortunately, we know of no acceptable method of adding pages to a book with
a sewn binding. If you have a particular problem in this regard, please give
us a call.
top of page
6. What is the size of the Journal 10+ book?
The closed book is 10.25" high, 7.5" wide and 1" thick.

1. Why does Journal 10+ encompass 11 years?
Not everyone will purchase or receive Journal 10+ just before
the start of the year. We wanted to make sure that everyone has at least 10
full years of use of his or her journal, so we included an extra year. We
call this our Start Anytime feature, and no matter when you receive
your Journal 10+, you have the remainder of that year, plus
the next 10 years before you complete our book.

2. How did Journal 10+ originate?
Masayo Koshiyama came up with the idea of Journal 10+. She was
born in Japan and came to the United States after graduating from college.
She always wanted to keep a journal, but felt intimidated by the blank-page
journals that were available. Because she was a busy entrepreneur, she wanted
to be able to record the essential, interesting events of each day without
the pressure to fill in a page each day. She also wanted to be
able to easily find past entries and to keep all the essential personal information
of her life in a single, easy-to-use volume. In 1994 Masayo worked with Eda
Warren of Desktop Publishing Services, Inc of Chicago to create the page design
and the elements that make up Journal 10+. The first [1995]
edition was published in the fall of 1994, and new editions are published
in the fall of each year.

3. What other journals do you sell?
Journal 10+ is the only book of this type that we publish. We do
not offer journals from other publishers at this time.
top of page
4. Do you have a catalog?
Since Journal 10+ is our only journal-type product, we do not
have a traditional catalog. Virtually all the print information we have for
our journal is here on this site. If you would like some information mailed
to you, or if you cannot find the answer to your question here, please
email us or call 1-800-694-4786.

5. Do you have a retail store in Chicago?
No. We have a small editorial office in downtown Chicago, but no retail store.
If you live or work nearby and would like to drop to pick up a Journal
10+, we would be delighted to have you drop in. We are here MF,
9:00 to 5:00 PM, or by appointment. Please call for directions and free parking
information.

6. Do you publish a Five-Year Journal?
We did experiment with a Journal 5+ edition, which we published
only in 1997.
The vast majority of our customers told us they preferred the larger page
format of our Journal 10+. We have no plans to publish a five-year
version of our journal at this time.
